These terms are an agreement between you and the Cookable team governing your use of the Cookable iOS app and the website at cookable.food. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If anything's unclear, email hello@cookable.food.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. We (and our licensors) keep all rights in the app, its design, and its content that you don't create.
Some features are offered through an optional auto-renewing subscription called Cookable Pro:
Prices are shown in-app in your local currency before you buy and may vary by region. Where offered, new subscribers get a free trial (currently 3 days); the subscription begins charging when the trial ends unless cancelled before then.
Cookable uses AI to recognise ingredients from photos and to generate recipes. AI makes mistakes. Recipes, ingredient identifications, nutritional hints, and cooking guidance are provided for inspiration only and may be inaccurate or incomplete.
You keep ownership of photos, captions, and comments you post. By posting to the feed you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within Cookable so other users can see it. Don't post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, or harassing. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and you can report objectionable content or block users in-app. We respond to reports within 24 hours.
You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account); see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Cookable team is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We may update the app and these terms over time. If we make material changes we'll notify you in-app or by email; continuing to use Cookable after changes take effect means you accept them. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
These terms are between you and the Cookable team, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app and is not responsible for addressing claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Where these terms are silent, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Cookable team operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
